Keith Boyes makes panel appearance at NMA Leadership Conference 2025
Our very own, Keith Boyes (aka Mr Spentwell), was invited onto the expert panel at the New Model Adviser Leadership Conference at the JW Marriott in London this month in front of c 250 delegates.
The discussion was focused on ‘Business Growth in the Modern Age with Keith, alongside fellow advisers Nicola & Jennifer Ellis; Karl Pemberton and Alasdair Walker (all doing great things I might add).
One of our findings in running Spentwell is we tend to attract clients from the bigger players in the industry and those going through some form of consolidation. From that experience and in discussions with clients who have come on board Keith had this to say on the value of the small advice firm:
“When we talk about the bigger players/ consolidators out there, what I see is them taking one step back from the client. I liken it to McDonalds. It’s not bad, and you know what you are going to get from a heavily driven process, but it doesn’t particularly create a memorable, warm experience for you, the client, at the end. In comparison, firms like Spentwell can provide that unique and connected experience that might otherwise be lost in a bigger firm. Clients within smaller practices can feel they are a part of the firm with a closer overall connection, rather than that being lost in an endless sea of processes.”
The panel session lasted 45 minutes covering business growth in the digital age; creating your own niche; the Great Wealth Transfer and how to approach it, as well as the power of the small independent advice firm.
What a great few days down in London it was, learning so much from our fellow peers, taking in some great sessions and overall left feeling very bright about the future of financial planning.
